Would you prefer to walk into an antique store that looks like a retail store or would you prefer to walk into an antique store that looks a little antique?

Hi Everyone,

My name is John and I joined this forum because I am about to embark in opening an Antique Store in my home town and need input. What do you think? Would you prefer to walk into an antique store that looks like a retail store or would you prefer to walk into an antique store that looks a little more antique? You answers are much appreciated.

Thanks,

John Razz

I'd go for the Antique look
Avoid clutter and have thing grouped/located somewhat logically

Hi John,

I would definitely go for a more antique-looking store if I were to be shopping for some ancient art work. I think antique would be the way to go because: a) it'd be more unique and not so corporate or cookie-cutter looking, and b) an antique store looking antique would simply look legit. Perhaps something like this.
