I just inherited two chairs, one rocker and one regular sitting chair. They have dutch designs carved into them over the shoulder on each side. They appear to be made out of some very dense wood. The carvings are of a dutch boy on the left with his hands in his pockets and a dutch girl on the left holding something that is not visible. The chair has heavy arms and is padded on the back between the two carvings. There are three slats running from the pad to the seat area. There also three slats running from below the arm rest to the bottom.
Here is where it is odd to me. There are four swastikas running across the lower front of the chairs. They are carved but they do not appear to be done by whomever carved the dutch boy and girl. The craftsmanship does not appear to be the same level.
Please give me any information you can.
Thanks
